In February 2016, Joe Doering was diagnosed with a brain tumor and subsequently underwent surgery, managing to return to the ring the following year and even win his second All Japan Triple Crown. Yet the cancer unfortunately returned in 2022, and since then, he has been inactive, recovering following his second surgery.
And now, in more sad news, the pro wrestler has taken to his Instagram Stories to disclose that the cancer is back for a third time while promoting his longstanding GoFundMe.
Doering broke into the business in 2004, and in the early days of his career, worked for TNA and as part of WWE’s developmental territory system. From there, he became a top foreign star in AJPW and would later rejoin TNA as part of the Violent By Design stable. Sadly, he has been unable to wrestle since his second brain cancer surgery, although it’s understood he remains under contract with the promotion.
