Jim Ross Addresses Retirement Speculation

Life hasn’t been kind to Jim Ross in recent years, as his wife passed in 2017, and he was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2021. And currently, to add to his misery, he is off AEW television while he has been advised against traveling while dealing with the after-effects of cancer treatment. However, it’s understood he is hoping to commentate at next month’s All In event.

That, however, is far from guaranteed, and rumors have begun to circulate following reports he only has two months left on his AEW contract that retirement could be the next step for the famous announcer. Now though, Ross has taken to Twitter to address this speculation and informed his followers he has no intention of hanging up his cowboy hat anytime soon.

Ross is a legendary figure in the world of professional wrestling. He began his career in the 1970s and became one of the most respected and recognizable announcers in the industry. Ross spent a significant portion of his career working for WWE, where his iconic voice and insightful commentary elevated countless matches and moments. Known as “Good Ol’ JR,” he became the voice of a generation, calling some of the most memorable matches in wrestling history.
