Jim Duggan Reveals He Is Battling Cancer Again

Several months ago, WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan shared the sad news on social media that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and would be undergoing surgery on October 29th. However, he would later go on to update fans that he had been declared cancer-free after cancer had been encapsulated inside his removed prostate and that his bones and the surrounding tissue were clear. Sadly, he has now provided a further update revealing that he is again battling cancer, and he will be undergoing radiation treatment five days a week for eight weeks. Yet, he did, thankfully, add that his doctors are optimistic about having caught it early.

It seems like my cancer treatment is not over even after the removal of my prostate last October. Tomorrow, I’m having my second hormone shot, and Tuesday, I’m being set up for radiation treatment, which will be eight weeks, five days a week. The doctors are very optimistic that they caught it early. But still, it’s a very terrifying time for me and my family. The doctors also said to go ahead and live life, which we’re going to do. I’m going to make most shows, but some shows, I’m gonna have to postpone or cancel, and I’m sorry about that, but that’s the way it’s got to be. Jim Duggan

Sadly, the former WWE and WCW star has had multiple health emergencies over the year, dating back to being diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1998. Happily, he overcame that and resumed his in-ring career. Although in his later years, he was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat that necessitated surgery. Then later in the same year, he underwent two further operations for what was described as a severe infection. Hopefully, now the treatment he is undergoing works, and he can have a spell without any additional health worries.
