Jeff Jarrett Explains Why He Mocked Braun Strowman During Dynamite

During the November 9th episode of Dynamite, Jeff Jarrett put over AEW’s Satnam Singh by ridiculing WWE’s Braun Strowman, saying, “this isn’t a make-believe monster who wears red skinny jeans and is produced by the banana nose circus.” And now, during the latest edition of his podcast, Jarrett addressed this comment, revealing he took aim at Strowman due to the WWE giant’s recently deleted tweet about “floppy floppers.” With the WWE Hall of Famer saying he felt he felt the tweet was tone-deaf, and saying he took offense.

I had no idea about Braun and his showing up late. I didn’t know any of that reference, but I was aware of him just kind of being, I don’t know if it’s naive, whatever you want to call it. When he takes a shot at flippy floppy stuff and blah blah blah blah blah, it’s almost tone-deaf because in 2022, when you look at the landscape of all of professional wrestling, of all of sports entertainment, you want to resonate with your audience and hey, hats off.

I think Corey Graves made a great statement that Braun is happy that him and Omos had a great match. But at the same time, he didn’t just put one, he put both feet in his mouth and is knocking flippy flop which I take offense to because this industry, whether it’s the X-division, whether it’s Lucha Libre, whatever it may be, if we don’t have a diversity of genres of wrestling and styles of wrestling, I mean, you’ve talked about AAA. It’s a different appetite.

But for him to kind of take that shot at it, I just thought, here’s a perfect opportunity to draw an analogy, and you know, Braun, whether he’s a former softball player or strongman, whatever it is, he’s got some accolades, but he’s certainly not an NBA basketball player.

At Crown Jewel, Braun Strowman wrestled fellow giant Omos in a match that wouldn’t have been out of place in 1984 WWF. And subsequently, Strowman received praise from fans for delivering a better-than-expected match. And truth be told, it was far superior in every way to the duds he’s had with Goldberg, Bray Wyatt, and Tyson Fury in the past. Yet, rather than sitting back and enjoying the compliments, in typical Strowman style, he has decided to take to Twitter and try to rile up wrestling fans by claiming the match he had was better than anything “floppy floppers” put on. Nevertheless, he deleted the tweet after claiming it was a joke and being shown up by his colleagues, which included Mustafa Ali asking him, “can you teach me how to get fired?
