Jeff Hardy Says He Feels Like A Ghost In AEW

Jeff Hardy was dissatisfied during his last WWE run, so signing with AEW should have been a fresh start for him. Yet he was unfortunately arrested for DUI before AEW had a chance to give him and his brother Matt the significant push fans wanted. Subsequently, he has seemingly turned his life around, having attended rehab and made his return to AEW television, which would be enough for many wrestlers. However, while speaking on Matt’s podcast, he has revealed he isn’t happy, describing himself as feeling like a ghost backstage due to not being involved in “something cool.”

“When I first came back, it was pretty exciting. I didn’t know what was going to be happening in the near future, but I think the last time I was in this extreme dimension of y’all’s podcast, I said that in WWE, I felt like I was a ghost, just walking around backstage. Honestly, man, I kind of still feel like that at AEW, just because of not being involved in something cool. I feel like there’s something so special that we have within us to really bring out.”

Why The Hardys aren’t involved in a prominent AEW storyline can only honestly be answered by Tony Khan, although the speculation online is that he may have lost faith in Jeff. Previously, Jim Ross revealed that Jeff wasn’t deemed reliable enough by WWE management to get a long-run as WWE Champion, and it appears history is now repeating itself. Still, Jeff is one of the most beloved babyfaces of all time, and if he can prove himself, then it seems inevitable he’ll eventually be a featured performer again.
