Cage debuted for AEW by winning the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing in 2020 and immediately looked set to be one of the promotion’s top stars. Yet, subsequently, he would end up having a lengthy spell on the sidelines, which made it seem inevitable that he would exit the company once his deal expired. Still, this wouldn’t happen, as Tony Khan used his option to extend his contract and, since then, has been utilizing him for both AEW and its sister promotion, ROH, with the 41-year-old currently part of the Don Callis Family.
