On Friday evening news broke that WWE had released Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox, while Baron Corbin wasn’t having his contract renewed. And now, in what most fans hope was a joke, Hartwell has taken to X to say, “Wait what,” leaving many wondering in the replies whether she found out about her departure on the social media platform.
Whether the 28-year-old will clarify this remains to be seen, but if she did find out about her employment status like this, WWE would look terrible in the eyes of fans. Therefore, hopefully, she was just using humor as a coping mechanism.
Hartwell, real name Samantha De Martin, broke into the business in 2016 and signed up with WWE after gaining experience on the Australian independent scene in late 2019. From there, she became an NXT television regular and eventually won the NXT Women’s Championship in a six-woman ladder match. However, her reign was short because she was called up to the main roster, where she was mainly utilized as part of a tag team with Candice LeRae.
