How Long The Kingdom’s AEW Contracts Are For Has Been Reported With It Also Revealed Who Pushed For Their Signing

Two weeks ago, just days after finishing with Impact Wrestling, Matt Taven, Maria Kanellis, and Mike Bennett would debut for AEW during Rampage following the conclusion of FTR and Shawn Spears vs. The Embassy when they attacked the victors before being run off by Samoa Joe and Wardlow. This, though, did frustrate some Impact Wrestling fans as this spoiled their yet untelevised departure from the company, which clearly wasn’t any concern of Tony Khan’s.

And now it’s been reported by Fightful Select that all three members have signed full-time AEW contracts, with it also revealing it was FTR who pushed for them to come in. Subsequently, PWInsider has added the trio’s deals last for three years.

The Kingdom (Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven) have officially signed with AEW after appearing on Rampage several weeks ago. The trio recently wrapped up their run with Impact Wrestling. They showed up in Toronto to challenge FTR for a future ROH World tag team title match. FTR had reportedly pushed to get the group involved, but it’s unknown how.

Given it was FTR who wanted them brought in and how they debuted, they will apparently be working with the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions, with it seeming likely they will face off at ROH Final Battle on December 10th. Which does make sense due to their history in the promotion under its former ownership, with Taven and Bennet collectively known as The Kingdon being two times Tag Champions. Additionally, Taven is a former ROH World Champion, Television Champion, and Six-Man Champion. Plus, Maria, who found fame in WWE, was previously referred to as The First Lady of ROH, a nickname she totally embraced.
