Horror Film Icon Robert Englund’s New Show Gets Premiere Date

Last year it was announced that the Travel Channel‘s “Shadows of History” had been retitled “True Terror With Robert Englund,” and now the six-part series has a premiere date.

In each episode, Englund will put together a trilogy of tales with the help from newspaper accounts, layered in with commentary from historians and experts. Stories will feature flying monsters, serial killers, creatures in the night, evil possessions and hauntings.

The icon of horror said in a statement:

Revealing the sinister side of our history, I’m thrilled to bring nightmares to life on ‘True Terror. These are tales so terrifyingly twisted, we can only hope they stay on the blood-soaked pages of the newspaper headlines from our past.Robert Englund

And the show’s producer, Matthew Butler, would say:

We’re delighted at Travel Channel to have the true icon of horror films, Robert Englund, take a ‘stab’ at leading our viewers through these hair-raising tales. In his signature spooky storytelling style, Robert resurrects the creepy and odd of America’s past, bringing viewers real stories that reveal sometimes our fears aren’t mere figments of our imagination after all.Matthew Butler

True Terror with Robert Englund will start on Wednesday, March 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the Travel Channel.
