During Night of Champions, former New Japan wrestler Hikuleo made his WWE television debut by helping Solo Sikoa defeat Jacob Fatu for the United States Championship. Yet, as Michael Cole noticeably didn’t call him by his name, speculation quickly commenced on social media that he would be getting a new WWE-owned ring name.

And while WWE previously applied to trademark the ring name “Talla Tonga,” an on-screen graphic during the premium live events post-show has confirmed that the 34-year-old is now going by Tala Tonga.

Hikuleo, real name Tautuiaki Taula Koloamatangi, is the half-brother of Tama Tonga and cousin /adopted brother of Tanga Loa, and therefore, most assumed he’d be integrated into The Bloodline storyline once it was reported he’d signed with WWE. However, the fact that he was under contract for almost exactly a year before recently wrestling dark matches against Kit Wilson and Ryan Matthias had made some fans wonder whether WWE had any plans for him.
