Head Of AEW Music Comments On Collision Theme Change

Prior to Saturday night’s episode of Collision, AEW had been using the Elton John classic “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)” as its theme music. Fans were surprised to be greeted by a new theme, “Red Light Is On (Let’s Go).”

Head of AEW music Mikey Rukus commented on the music change via X, and understood there would likely be pushback from fans. “Hey guys,” he wrote “Its ok. I knew it would be universally hated. There’s no such thing as an upgrade from Elton. Change is inevitable. We tried something different with the college/gogo cadence. I knew many wouldn’t get it. Again, it’s ok. I’m happy with it, my team is happy with it. It’s not changing.”

It’s unknown why the change was made other than the company wanted to switch things up. Rukus went on to say that the song was completed earlier in the day and would be available via Spotify later this week. The full version of the song can be heard below.
