Alice In Chains is currently on tour, and guitarist Zakk Wylde has been plenty busy himself playing in the reformed Pantera as part of numerous celebratory shows honoring the band’s legacy and late guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott and late drummer “Vinnie Paul” Abbott.

So fans in Highland, California were treated to a rare guest spot from Wylde at Alice In Chains’ Oct. 5 show when he joined the group for a stellar performance of “Would?”

In fan-filmed footage from the show, vocalist William DuVall praised the guitarist as he joined the group on stage while bassist Mike Inez briefly played the bass line from Ozzy’s “No More Tears.” Inez and Wylde both played on Ozzy’s iconic album of the same name.

DuVall, Alice In Chains and Wylde all commented on the performance afterwards.

“It’s always a pleasure to jam with old friends,” Alice In Chains shared via social media. “Thank you @ZakkWyldeBLS for tearing it up with us on “Would?” at @Yaamava the other night.”

The prior day DuVall clarified: “Yes, that IS the great @ZakkWyldeBLS rockin’ out directly to my right. And, yes, he IS playing one of my Les Pauls. Fun show last night. Thanks to Zakk and everyone who showed up. Great day at the office. Highland, CA. Yaamava Theater. Oct. 5, 2023. #aliceinchains #tour2023.”

Wylde himself posted: “MUCH BL MCLOVE & THANKS To FATHERS JERRY,MIKEY,SEAN,WILLIAM & The ALICE DOOM CREW For letting me ROLL w/THEM!!! THE IMMORTAL BELOVED & I Had an AMAZING NIGHT Watching you Guys CRUSH IT as ALWAYS!!!”
