Bill Goldberg Reveals The “Victim” Has Been Chosen For His Retirement Match

Bill Goldberg returned to WWE television at Bad Blood and, after being insulted by Gunther, going on to declare, “You’re next, boy,” teasing a future match. And now, while appearing on the SEC ESPN Network, the WCW legend has revealed that he will have a retirement match in 2025, with the “victim” picked. Obviously, it would make sense for it to be the Austrian, given what occurred at Bad Blood, but there are other options like Bronsen Reed, Bron Breakker, and Kevin Owens.

“In 2025, Goldberg’s having his retirement match. I think we know who the subject or the victim. Probably t the front-runner right now. We know who it is. Victim 100%. But you know, 2025 Goldberg makes his return. Retirement match. Yeah, I got a couple of months to get ready. You know, no date, no time. So we’ll see.”

According to 57-year-old Goldberg, he had previously been promised a retirement match by Vince McMahon in exchange for coming back to WWE and putting over Roman Reigns while still recovering from sickness. Therefore when this didn’t happen, Goldberg would go as far as to call McMahon “a piece of sh*t” during an interview, seemingly confirming his relationship with WWE was over. Still, it now looks like Triple H will deliver on McMahon’s promise, which is somewhat unexpected considering there was once real-life animosity between the pair.
