GoFundMe Launched For “Dirty” Dutch Mantell

The last couple of years have been difficult for legendary pro wrestler, manager, and booker Dutch Mantell, with him having been hospitalized on multiple occasions and nearly dying twice. And now, with him struggling financially and his wife also unwell, a GoFundMe has been launched by their daughter in an attempt to raise $20,000 during this challenging time in their lives.

“Hey everybody…my daughter started a GoFundMe account because my hospital insurance has reached its limit. Help out if you can. If not, thank you anyway.”

74-year-old Mantell, real name Wayne Keown, began wrestling in 1972, and he would go on to work all around the world as a performer and in various creative positions. And while modern fans likely best remember him as Zeb Colter, the manager of Jack Swagger, Cesaro, and Alberto Del Rio in WWE, his historical significance shouldn’t overlooked. This is because not only did he name Steve Austin, but he also invented Wrestlers Court as a way for wrestlers to settle disputes non-violently.
