KISS bassist and rock legend Gene Simmons was recently asked by a TMZ reporter what he thought about actors like Ben Stiller and Mark Ruffalo speaking out against President Donald Trump and U.S. attacks against Iran. Simmons has long said political views shouldn’t be intertwined with the entertainment industry, and he had some choice words for actors who often voice their opinions.
“Yeah, because everyone in the world should listen to what actors and comedians say because their so qualified,” Simmons said. “Basically, shut the f*ck up. Do your art and shut up. Nobody is interested in your opinion, and that includes me (and my own political views). Who I vote for. Who I like. Who the f*ck do you think you are?”
Simmons continued: “People in America work hard for a living and they don’t want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls Royces. It’s time for everyone in the entertainment industry to shut their pie hole and just do your art. Nobody cares what you think. I don’t.”
Ruffalo, who frequently voices his displeasure with the Trump administration, was also called out. Simmons referred to him as “Mark Buffalo” and said, “‘What does Mark think about politics?’ I don’t care. Go to Kylie Jenner and ask her what she thinks of the war so far.”
