On Wednesday, news began to circulate that KISS bassist/singer Gene Simmons was involved in a car accident. NBC 4 Los Angeles reported that the accident occurred early in the afternoon on a stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway.
Simmons apparently told deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department that he either passed out of fainted while driving. Simmons’ wife Shannon Tweed said the car crossed several lanes of traffic before striking a parked vehicle.
Simmons took to his X account to post an update saying: “Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us (who are) horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”
Simmons is back at home recovering, and Tweed shared that the incident might have been tied to a change in the KISS bassist’s medication. Simmons isn’t the only original member of KISS who is at home recuperating. Ex-KISS guitarist Ace Frehley also recently canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates following a reported fall at his home studio.
