FTR Considering An Unorthodox Career Choice Once Their AEW Deals Expire

FTR is one of, if not the top tag team in all pro wrestling; however, in many fans’ minds, AEW is underutilizing them. And seemingly, they agree, as, during a recent discussion with Fightful Select, Dax Harwood revealed that when he and Cash Wheeler’s contracts expire next April, they are seriously considering taking a year off from the major promotions and instead will wrestle on the independent circuit. Which if true, is an unusual career decision, although as the duo has previously turned down big money when in WWE to re-sign deals, they’ve previously proved they are motivated by the all-mighty dollar.

FTR debuted for AEW on the May 27, 2020, episode of Dynamite and would win the AEW Tag Championships from Kenny Omega and Adam Page at All Out, making them the first team to have held tag team gold in AEW and WWE. And while you would have thought the only way to go from there was down, they are currently triple tag team champions holding the ROH World Tag Team Championship, the AAA World Tag Team Championship, and the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Nevertheless, most fans want to see them in the title hunt for the AEW World Tag Championships again, and that could be a deciding factor when it comes time to renew their AEW contracts.
