Former WWE talent Shelly Martinez, best known for her time in their version of ECW as Ariel, stepped away from the ring in 2017. However, it appears the 44-year-old might be considering making a comeback, having asked her followers on X who they would like to see her wrestle. Obviously, this doesn’t confirm a comeback is happening, but based on the replies, it appears it would be a popular decision if she did.
Martinez broke into the business under the ring Desire in 2002 and signed a WWE developmental contract just three years later after training at OVW. Her big break would then come when she was introduced to fans of WWE’s ECW brand as part of a vampire couple alongside Kevin Thorn. Yet, while her good looks and charisma got her over with fans, the company would release her following a backstage argument with Batista. Still, despite this devastating career setback, she remained in the business for another decade, working for TNA and multiple independent promotions before retiring.
