Aliyah has been out of the wrestling spotlight since departing WWE in September 2023, although before that, she hadn’t actually competed since September 2022. Therefore, many suspected she may have quietly retired, with it known she had begun a DJ career under the name DJ Nhooph.
However, on Sunday, the 29-year-old made her return to the ring, competing at Destiny Wrestling’s Haywire show, which was taped for the Fight Network. And after the match, she would seemingly confirm it wasn’t a one-off by joyfully telling fans in footage shared by the promotion on Instagram, “I’m back, b*tches.”
Aliyah, real name Nhooph Al-Areebi, decided to become a pro wrestler after watching a match between Beth Phoenix and Mickie James, and following two years on the indie circuit, signed with WWE in 2015. And while she would win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez, overall, her time with the company was uneventful. Still, given her age and in-ring ability, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her given an opportunity by a promotion like TNA or even possibly AEW.
