Aliyah had been out of the wrestling spotlight since departing WWE in September 2023, although before that, she hadn’t actually competed since September 2022. However, she returned to the ring back in November, wrestling for the Canadian independent promotion Destiny, winning their women’s championship.
Still, despite looking to continue her career, social media can be a terrible place, and one so-called fan would randomly opt to tell the former WWE talent she is one of the worst wrestlers in the world. Yet, rather than ignore the troll, Aliyah would fire back in a now-deleted tweet saying the hate “propels me and has brought me closer to who l actually am and want to be.”
30-year-old Aliyah, real name Nhooph Al-Areebi, decided to become a pro wrestler after watching a match between Beth Phoenix and Mickie James, leading to her spending two years on the indie circuit before signing with WWE in 2015. Yet, while she would win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez, overall, her time with the company was uneventful, and therefore her release didn’t come as a huge surprise.
