Former WWE Talent Has Made His MLW Debut

Babatunde Aiyegbusi, better known by his WWE ring names of Dabba-Kato, Babatunde, and Commander Azeez, looked like a future WWE star thanks to being 6 ft 9 and having a standout look. Yet, after seven years with the company, he failed to get over and was therefore released in September 2023. However, having undergone a name change to Babathunder, the former football player has now made his debut for MLW by first wrestling Mads Krügger during their Thursday night One Shot show and subsequently joining his Contra Unit stable.

36-year-old Aiyegbusi initially attempted to have a football career, and after impressing in Europe as an offensive tackle, was signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately for him, he would be cut after just three pre-season games and, like many before him in the same situation, turned to pro wrestling and joined WWE to train at the Performance Center. From there, he participated in the Greatest Royal Rumble before making his main roster debut as part of Raw Underground. He was then repacked as Commander Azeez and put alongside Apollo Crews, yet despite a strong push at the start, he ended up doing jobs in NXT before long.
