After not wrestling for over six years, and previously saying that he didn’t see a purpose wrestling again as he had a good career, former WWE star Alex Riley is returning to the ring. With Brian Myers’ promotion Create A Pro announcing this on social media, and he’ll be teaming with new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus in a tag match held for a charity toy drive.
Riley looked like a can’t-miss star coming out of the second season of WWE’s faux reality version of NXT as The Miz’s rookie. However, his career stumbled after he stood up for himself after being hazed by John Cena, and it’s claimed the movie star used his influence to hold him back. It should, though, be noted that Cena has never confirmed this himself, and in the past multiple wrestlers have claimed to have been held back to cover their own shortcomings.
