Former NXT Wrestler Returning To The United States But Not For WWE

Over the weekend, it was reported that WWE was working on bringing Sarray, who was part of NXT between 2021 and 2022, back to the company. However, it has now been confirmed by PWInsider.com that while she is returning to the United States, it won’t be for WWE. This is because she has signed a multi-year deal with Sukeban. For those unaware, Sukeban is a new US-based Japanese female wrestling promotion that ran its first show in September and features Bull Nakano as its commissioner.

“PWInsider.com can confirm that former WWE NXT star Sarray (aka Sareee in Japan) has signed what has been described as a multi-year deal with Sukeban to return to the United States.”

27-year-old Sarray, real name Sari Fujimura, made her name in her home country before signing with WWE in 2020, debuting the following year against Zoey Stark. And while initially pushed, it’s understood she became frustrated with how she was presented following William Regal’s departure from the company. Subsequently, she asked to be allowed to return to Japan, and since then, she has been wrestling for multiple Japanese promotions under her original name of Sareee.
