Former AEW Wrestler Thinks The “Chances Are High” He’ll Wrestle For WWE

Nine months ago, Fuego del Sol announced on social media he was departing AEW after his contract wasn’t renewed. Still, the masked underdog wouldn’t let this get him down, and he is currently thriving on the indie circuit, competing all over the country. And now, while responding to a question on X, he has revealed he believes “the chances are high” he’ll end up wrestling for WWE. Of course, whether the company has any interest in him remains to be seen, although he did work an enhancement match for them against Erick Rowan in 2020.

The 28-year-old Alabama-based luchador built up a cult following in AEW despite 34 consecutive losses, which led to him memorably earning a full-time contract following a Rampage defeat to Miro. However, his career would unfortunately stall after he suffered a badly broken foot, and by the time he was ready to compete again, AEW had discontinued their YouTube shows, which is where he was mainly used.
