Metallica have long been a part of charitable causes and organizations including their own called All Within My Hands. The band’s frontman James Hetfield is now teaming up with the Adaptive Sports Foundation to raise money for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses.
Fans can bid on a dinner for four with Hetfield in Denver, Colorado. The auction description reads: “You and up to three additional guests will join James Hetfield, iconic lead singer, rhythm guitarist and co-founder of Metallica, for a meal in Denver, Colorado! Plus, you will be joined for the meal by an Adaptive Sports Foundation athlete and an accompanying staff member, who will share their success story with James and your group!”
As of this writing, the high bid is nearly $30,000. In addition to the bid, the “winner is responsible for the cost of the meal for all present,” but is allowed to take a photo and have a small piece of merchandise or memorabilia signed.
More information about the auction can be found here. The next minimum bid requirement is $31,000, and the auction ends on Aug. 21.
