Asking Alexandria were at the latest incarnation of Warped Tour in Washington D.C. The popular metalcore band formed in 2006 and found success not long after thanks to their “Stand Up and Scream” and “Reckless & Relentless” records, and despite a few hiccups along the way have steadily toured and continued to release new music with their most recent offering, “Where Do We Go From Here?,” dropping back in 2023.

The band has come under fire, however, for their recent Warped Tour performance. A thread on Reddit saw numerous fans voice their displeasure with the set and most notably the effort from singer Danny Worsnop. Footage shows the singer appearing to be apathetic during the band’s closing song, and many fans lamented the prominent use of backing tracks. “Danny is not going to change he doesn’t care about being the singer of asking, once will be fine, and ten will ruin the name of the band and its legacy,” wrote one user. “The band needs to find a new singer or someone that the world knows.”

Another user posted: “Holy sh*t… Im sorry but i just watched the concert on twitch. I honestly would be so embarassed if I was James, Sam, Cam. They played Dont Pray for Me and The Final Episode and the entire time, Danny wasnt even holding the mic near his face for all of the screams and it looked so awkward.”

Worsnop didn’t comment on the performance, but bassist Sam Bettley seemingly did via Instagram stories simply saying “I’m sorry.” Footage of the show can be viewed below or at this link.
