Following AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view, Eddie Kingston alarmed fans when he posted on Instagram, “I don’t understand AEW anymore after last night. Why come back?” Precisely what the 43-year-old meant by this is open to interpretation, but some online believed he was saying he wasn’t happy with the company’s direction. However, podcaster Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda has since taken to X to unexpectedly report that Kingston is considering retirement because “pro wrestling has passed him.

Eddie Kingston’s pro wrestling career is currently on hold after he, unfortunately, broke his leg following a collision with the guardrail during the finish of his match with Gabe Kidd at NJPW Strong Resurgence last May. Still, it was believed he would be returning to the ring in three or four months once his rehab was completed. Yet the fact he recently said during an interview he currently feels “like sh*t” both physically and mentally suggests he isn’t in a good headspace, making this report seem plausible.
