Dolph Ziggler Issues Challenge To Set Up His Post-WWE Return To The Ring (w/Video)

Dolph Ziggler was a huge part of WWE television over the years and achieved levels of success most wrestlers could only dream of, yet he was deemed surplus to requirements by the company back in September. And now, with his 90-day non-compete expiry fast approaching, he has challenged Ray Gonzalez to a match at the World Wrestling Council’s upcoming Euphoria event on January 20, 2024. This will be Ziggler’s return to Puerto Rico, having last competed in the country back in 2017 against Shinsuke Nakamura on a WWE house show.

Ziggler signed with WWE in 2004, and except for OVW, their developmental territory at the time, he has never wrestled elsewhere. Therefore, wrestling on independent shows will be a totally new experience for him. However, considering his level of fame and in-ring ability, it doesn’t seem likely he will be a free agent for long, with many AEW fans already clamoring for Tony Khan to bring him in when legally permitted.
