Details & Teaser Revealed For New Season Of “Beavis And Butt-Head”

Teenage heavy metal loving slackers Beavis and Butt-Head made their triumphant return last year, first in the movie “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe” and then with the re-boot of their regular series via Paramount+.

Since its return, the show has drawn fan and critical acclaim. Created and voiced by Mike Judge, Beavis And Butt-Head have been around since 1992, and the show’s first series ran on MTV for seven seasons. It was revived again in 2011.

Earlier this week, Paramount+ announced that the show is getting picked up for a second season. The network will premiere two episodes on April 20 in the U.S. and Canada, and in Australia and the U.K. on  April 21, with further international markets to follow.

During its initial run, “Beavis and Butt-Head “received critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society.  Judge talked to IndieWire last year about getting back into the swing of the popular show.

“I watched the old episodes and just thought about how eternal the idea was,” he said. “Fifteen-year-old males really haven’t changed that much in hundreds of years. There are some things that don’t have anything to do with what time period you’re in.”

Judge also talked about having the characters comment on not only music videos, but viral clips and TikToks.

“I’m just as much of a sucker as anyone when it comes to watching dumb stuff on YouTube, although the stuff that was selected for this show might not have crossed paths with me as often as it does for the younger people who work for me,” he said. “It’s pretty fun when you find something and there’s an angle on it, like the TikTok on creating prison ink tattoo. It was pretty fun to imitate that guy as Beavis and Butt-Head. I’m really just looking for anything that would be funny for them to talk about. I’m not critiquing it.”

Last month it was also announced that Judge’s other long-running animated series, “King of the Hill,” was getting a re-boot on Hulu.

Deadline reported: “The show, set in the fictional Arlen, Texas, follows the life of Hank Hill, an enthusiastic seller of propane and propane accessories; his wife, Peggy, the local Boggle champ and substitute teacher; and their 13-year-old son, Bobby, who defies any expectation his father had for a son. Hank’s friends — conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill and cool but inarticulate Boomhauer (Judge) — along with Peggy’s friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy (Ashley Gardner), and Bobby’s friend Connie (Tom), help the Hills navigate a changing world.”
