Deonna Purrazzo looked set for big things when she signed for WWE in 2018, yet, due to the company feeling she wasn’t ready for television and the pandemic causing budget cuts, she would be released in 2020. Yet, in hindsight, that may have been for the best, as she joined Impact Wrestling, became one of their top female stars, and got to work with her husband, Steve Maclin. However, with it known her contract is set to expire at the end of the year, Fightful Select has now reported that she has decided to test free agency rather than re-signing.
“In following up, we’re told that Purrazzo intends to explore free agency, and no deal with IMPACT Wrestling has been reached.”
Fightful Select29-year-old Purrazzo began her wrestling training in 2012 and wrestled her first match in 2013. Following a run on the indies, she would work for Ring of Honor, TNA, and Stardom before wrestling for WWE and eventually joining the company full-time before being released two years later. Still, she didn’t let her WWE disappointment get her down and subsequently joined Impact Wrestling, where she has been a three-time Impact Knockouts World Champion and a former Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Champion.
