Dax Harwood Replies To Report WWE Wants To Re-Sign FTR

It was recently reported that WWE is interested in bringing Dax Harwood and Cash Wheler, collectively known as FTR, back to the company. This isn’t surprising as the team is arguably the best tag team in the world at present, and WWE had wanted to retain them previously. However, now in an interview with the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Harwood acknowledged the news story but said he’d never go behind Tony Khan’s back. He didn’t, though, rule out a potential return to WWE in the future, which is obviously the wise thing to do when it comes to contract negotiations with AEW.

I think both companies are in the business of getting talent and getting talented talent, not just any talent, and I think they’ve seen the wave we’ve made, especially in the last 8-10 months, more so in the last 4 months. So yeah, why wouldn’t they put feelers out? Why wouldn’t they ask about it?

Here’s the thing, we respect Tony so much. We would never, in a million years, while we’re under a contract with the company, would we ever go behind his back and talk contract status with anybody else. No other company. We would never do that to him because we have too much respect for what he’s given us and what he’s allowed us to do.

It’s known the duo turned down significant money offers so they could leave WWE as they believe their tag division was an afterthought, citing Braun Strowman’s Raw Tag Team Championship victory with a 10-year child called Nicholas. However, money always talks, and they may feel they can help elevate tag team wrestling in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, working with The Uso’s and Street Profits. Nevertheless, they are still contracted to AEW, and with the pair unwilling to engage in any shady business with WWE, it will be some time before they can discuss their careers with WWE management.
