Dark Side Of The Ring Producer Gives Update On Shows Future

Five months ago, it was reported that Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring hadn’t been renewed for a fourth season. However, it ended up being inaccurate as while the producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener are working on a new show for Vice about the territories in collaboration with The Rock, it would be confirmed that their original show wasn’t finished. And now, during an interview with ComicBook.com, Eisener has confirmed they are thinking about the show’s future and hope more episodes will be made. Adding that, there will be plenty more wrestling documentaries from Husney and himself.

It’s not something I can quite answer yet, but it’s not … we’re definitely thinking about more “Dark Side of the Ring.” It’s definitely something that will, hopefully, be in the cards in the future. But right now, we’re gearing up for “Tales From The Territories” to come out. But, yeah, there’s going to be plenty more wrestling documentaries that are going to come out from me.

It’s hard to imagine DSOTR not returning as while down from season 1, the ratings were often double, if not triple, the channel’s average. With the season 2 finale, which covered Owen’s Hart death, being the highest-rated program in the channel’s history at the time. However, the show wasn’t without issue, as the episode which covered The Plane Ride From Hell saw Ric Flair canceled for a short time after his behavior was revealed, and Impact Wrestling suspended Tommy Dreamer for seemingly defending it.
