Darby Allin was supposed to currently be on hiatus from AEW, having planned to climb Mount Everest this year. However, after suffering a broken foot during a match with Jay White shortly before he was supposed to begin, his expedition had to be postponed. And when you add that he was recently hit by a bus while visiting New York, nobody would resent him taking a break from the ring.
Yet, after Eddie Kingston broke his left while wrestling on a New Japan Strong show, Allin would be announced as his replacement for Double or Nothing’s Anarchy in the Arena match. And while he clearly wasn’t 100% and needed to wear a protective mask, he certainly didn’t hold back, and following the hard-hitting contest has shared a closeup of his face on X captioned “Morning after anarchy’s thumbtacks to the face.”
31-year-old Allin is one of AEW’s brightest stars, although the longevity of his career is always in question, considering his daredevil style, carefree attitude, and willingness to take risky bumps in random television matches, let alone on pay-per-view. Yet somehow, he always manages to rebound quickly, seemingly believing he is indestructible.
