Danhausen is an incredibly popular AEW performer and moves far more merchandise than someone in his spot typically would. Still, his time on AEW television has been limited due to injury despite vignettes promoting his big return. And now a malicious rumor has been spreading online that he could be about to be fired due to selling bootleg merchandise. Of course, there is no truth to this, and Danhausen has now taken to X to debunk this claim and attempt to clear his name.
Danhausen, who has previously described himself as “Conan O’Brien possessed by a demon,” made his name on the independent circuit before joining ROH in 2019. And despite his gimmick being a strange fit for a promotion based on workrate, he managed to get over with the crowd and secure himself a contract. However, when it was announced that ROH was going on a hiatus, he found himself unemployed, which actually worked out well for the 33-year-old long-term as it opened the door for AEW to sign him and perform his act on a larger stage.
