WarGames was indeed war at this past Saturday’s Survivor Series event, with multiple talents walking out of the cage matches wounded. And while not apparent at the time, it’s now been reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that IYO SKY came out of the match banged up and was spotted wearing a neck brace backstage at Raw. And while it isn’t known how severe her injury is, the fact she did appear in front of a camera for a brawl segment makes it appear the brace was simply a precaution.
Earlier this year, it appeared SKY, then going by the name Io Shira was on her way out of the company after a four-year NXT run. However, with Vince McMahon retiring, Triple H made one of his first creative decisions to introduce her alongside Bayley and Dakota Kai at SummerSlam, with it later confirmed they’d be going by the name Damage CTRL. Subsequently, she has been a regular television competitor on the main roster and, with Kai, is a two-time and current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.
