Just one month after finishing up with WWE in 2016, D-Von Dudley would return to work as a backstage producer. And since then, except for a spell where he couldn’t work due to suffering a stroke, he has been an instrumental part in putting matches together and coaching talents. Now though, he has himself confirmed himself via Twitter that he and the company have decided to mutually part ways.
What’s next for D-Von remains to be seen; however, anyone hoping to see him return to the ring alongside longtime tag partner Bully Ray is set for disappointment. This is because D-Von is unable to wrestle, as 11 months ago, he revealed he’d had his spine shifted and now has screws and a plate in his back. Consequently, even a minor bump could endanger his long-term health.
