It became known four weeks ago that Sami Callihan’s Impact Wrestling contract was expiring at the end of September. Subsequently, it would be reported that his longtime friend and former Switchblades tag team partner Jon Moxley had been pushing AEW to sign him, so it was suspected that could be his next destination. And now, suggesting that’s a realistic possibility, PWInsider.com has confirmed that the former NXT talent was backstage during AEW’s Saturday night’s Collision taping.

“Sami Callihan was backstage at last night’s AEW Collision taping in Memphis.”

36-year-old Callihan previously wrestled on NXT under the name Solomon Crowe. However, he is best known to wrestling fans for his time in Impact Wrestling. Arguably, his most memorable run in the company came in 2019 when he had a lengthy feud with Tessa Blanchard involving the Impact World Championship. Additionally, he was prominently featured during Impact Wrestling’s previous working relationship with AEW, when he worked a high-profile match with Kenny Omega at Slammiversary 2021.
