Courtney Love Calls Out Rock Hall & Foo Fighters Frontman Dave Grohl

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is often criticized for the numerous worthy bands that still aren’t in their institution. In its latest list of those being considered for induction, numerous hard rock and heavy metal legends were omitted including Motorhead, Thin Lizzy, Foreigner and more.

The Rock Hall revealed its nominees for the Class of 2023 earlier this year. The top vote-getters will be announced in May and inducted in the fall.

The Rock Hall is again coming under fire for its lack of female representation. Author Jessica Hooper broke down some of the stats when it comes to ladies who have been inducted. She initially responded via social media to an article noting that the Rock Hall was celebrating “#WomenWhoRock” as part of Women’s History Month. The headline read “”Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Celebrates Women Who Rock.”

Hooper responded: “Do they tho? 719 inductees to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, only 61 are women. That’s 8.48 percent. C’mon @rockhall, it’s FUCKING GRIM BRO when yr doing worse than women-artists-on-country radio numbers (10 percent) and women headliners at major music festivals (13 percent).”

Former Hole singer Courtney Love added a response to the conversation. “@jesshopp DOES THE MATH,” tweeted Love. “37 years in existence & women make up 8.48 percent of inductees out of 719. See txt to Grohl. @rockhall ELIGIBILITY is 25 years after 1st release. @foofighters were nominated 4 secs later. @NinaSimoneMusic & Carole King 30 years #fixtherockandrollhalloffame.”

Love also threw shade at Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl writing: “Have fun at the Rock Hall Dave. Make sure and hold the seats of Tina Turner & Carole King, both who have been eligible for over 30! years each.”
