Last year, every member of metal core band As I Lay Dying quit except for singer Tim Lambesis. The exits apparently came about due to the volatile relationship between Lambesis and his then-wife Dany Ciara. Disturbing footage was leaked of Lambesis abusing his dog, and Ciara had previously accused the singer of intimidation, coercion and several counts of abuse.
With all of that being said, it’s somewhat surprising to learn that Lambesis and a new lineup of the band are plotting their ninth studio album after the conclusion of their current tour of Russia and Israel. New bassist Chris Clancy said: “We’ve got all the songs ready. We’ve got way more songs than we need, and we’ve been whittling through ’em. So we’re gonna sit down while we’re on the road, actually, and kind of do some more development to the songs. And when we get back, we’re gonna really start recording it.”
Lambesis himself added: “I will say this – as soon as we get home from this tour, it’s our highest priority to focus on that. We cleared everything up so that this is entirely the focus after this.”
Back in 2014, Lambesis was convicted and sentenced to six years in prison for soliciting the murder of his estranged wife.
