Concern That Von Wagner Was Legitimately Hurt During NXT Steel Steps Spot

This week, NXT featured a No Disqualification match between Von Wagner and Bron Breakker, which impressed fans with its levels of brutality. Yet, while fans viewed the bout positively, the big talking point came after the bell when Breakker smashed steel steps onto the head of Wagner, resulting in the show fading to black. Later, WWE would announce on social media that Wagner was receiving attention at a local medical facility, and videos and images of him bloody and heavily bandaged would be shared.

Nevertheless, while this came across as grave at the time, most assumed it was all part of the storyline between the pair, and Wagner was doing a great sell job. However, it has now been reported by BodySlam.net that this might not have been the case. That is because their sources claim Wagner was accidentally struck for real by Breakker, which saw Wagner’s head split open. Which, if accurate, is incredibly worrying for the second-generation talent.

“Sources backstage in NXT noted to us that there was a general panic after Bron ā€œhit him in the head accidentally.ā€ It was stressed to us that the ā€œblack screenā€ was planned, but it appeared to be a blessing in disguise for Von Wagner, as the blow was not shown on television. We were then told ā€œaspects went wrongā€ and Wagner ended up being split open by the shot,”

Wagner is the son of Wayne Bloom, who wrestled for WWE as Beau Beverly in the 1990s. Still not the finished article, it’s understood WWE is very high on the 29-year-old as a talent, with Vince McMahon reportedly even seeing him as a future WrestleMania main eventer. And while that seems a long shot at present, it should be remembered he has only been competing since May 2019 and will likely get every opportunity to develop in the ring.
