Cody Rhodes finished his story by winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XL to the delight of fans worldwide. Following this, he celebrated in the ring with his family, Triple H, Bruce Prichard, and several other wrestlers. Yet, it appears some AEW wrestlers believed the whole thing was over the top, as both Brian Cage and Toni Storm seemingly took subtle jabs at Rhodes and the company this weekend.
Cage would do so by saying on X regarding the Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay match at Dynasty, “I don’t care what story you finish. That was the match of the year.” Additionally, during the post-show media scrum, Storm would tell Tony Khan while in character that “no matter how many stories I finish, I will never call you into the ring to celebrate with me.” However, these little digs would seemingly hit a nerve with Rhodes’ sister, Teil Gergel, as she subsequently fired back before deleting the tweet.
“People taking focus from an amazing match to get in little shots is a choice, but it’s all good everyone feeds from the top in this biz.”

In fact, she made headlines herself when she blasted Pro Wrestling Illustrated for only listing Cody at number 10 in their annual PWI 500 list, going as far as to suggest that the publication had a personal vendetta against the entire Rhodes family.
