Cody Rhodes Reveals Which Logo Kofi Kingston Talked Him Out Of Getting Tattooed On His Hand

Cody Rhodes is known for his oversized neck tattoo, shocking many fans when he displayed it at AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view in February 2020. Yet, it turns out that before that, he considered an alternative logo tattoo dating back to WrestleMania 26 in 2010 which would have been the “The Legacy” symbol from the faction he was part of with Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase Jr.

Rhodes would reveal this himself on the My Mom’s Basement podcast, adding that it was Kofi Kingston that talked him out of it. And considering The Legacy essentially disbanded around this time, it is good Kingston was there to offer his advice.

I almost got a tattoo on my hand of the Legacy logo before the match. I want to say, and I hope I’m giving credit to the right guy, Kofi Kingston was the one who told me absolutely not to do that. Like, yeah, Legacy was cool. Yes, I was excited about having this first real WrestleMania, but it’s not that place on the card that you need this tattoo. I thought, okay. I also liked the L. I thought it was a pretty cool logo, but I didn’t get the tattoo, so Kofi was right.

For those who need to be made aware, The Legacy was a heel faction considering of multi-generation wrestlers, and in addition to the members mentioned above, briefly included Manu and Sim Snuka. And while the stable was meant to create a bunch of new stars, the group only lasted for around 18 months and did little more than establish Rhodes and DiBiase Jr as midcard lackeys for Orton.
