Cody Rhodes Provides More Info On His Bus Catching Fire & Reveals The Items He Saved

On Friday afternoon, Cody Rhodes revealed that his tour bus had caught fire overnight, and while nobody was hurt, he initially only got to save two possessions. And now, while speaking to Pat McAfee, he has shared more info on the incident and revealed that the items he initially saved were a photo of his wife, Brandi, and daughter Liberty, plus the boots he’ll be wearing at WrestleMania 40.

“Last night, 1 AM, laying in bed, all of a sudden, loud bang at the side of my bus. Thought it was a gunshot, climbed up, next thing I know my bus driver yells, ‘We gotta get off this bus it’s on fire.’ So my bus, it didn’t burn to a crisp, but it was up in a big fireball for a moment. I’m here this morning, non-flinching, I grabbed two things off my bus when I thought this is the end, I grab a photo of my daughter and wife and my WrestleMania boots.”

Over the past decade or so, getting a luxury tour bus has become a status symbol for many pro wrestlers, with only the top guys being in a position to purchase one or negotiate it into their contracts. Therefore, once Rhodes got his in 2021 during part of AEW, it signified he had indeed made it in the business. Hence, losing his home away from home will be a big blow to Rhodes and his family, who will presumably be using hotels for the immediate future.
