When CM Punk returned to wrestling in 2021, fans immediately began speculating that it could lead to his wife, AJ Lee, stepping back into the ring again herself. And while there have been some occasional teases of this on social media, during an interview with Ariel Helwani, the injured WWE star played down her potential return, telling the journalist, when asked directly, “Probably not.”
37-year-old Lee hasn’t wrestled since 2015 due to damage to her vertebrae, with her last match being a six-women tag match on Raw the night after WrestleMania 31. Yet, she has previously revealed that she is physically healed enough to compete again but added that she doesn’t think the challenge is there and instead wants the next generation to have the spotlight.
