Actress Christina Applegate rose to mainstream fame starring as the drop dead gorgeous Kelly Bundy in the cult TV hit “Married… With Children” in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Applegate would parlay that fame into a lengthy acting career, but has sadly been dealing with Multiple Sclerosis since 2021. She did, however, recently release a new memoir “You With the Sad Eyes.”
In it, Applegate reveals that back in 1989, she ditched soon-to-be A-list actor Brad Pitt for Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach. The incident occurred while Applegate was attending the MTV Video Music Awards with Pitt. “I had spent all night staring at Bach, who was then a long-haired hunk fronting the band Skid Row,” Applegate wrote. “I hate to put it like this, but Brad back then was still making his way as an actor, and he wasn’t yet THE Brad Pitt, the man of so many people’s dreams.”
Applegate continued: “And it gets worse: Brad was left to sullenly drive my mom home. Apparently, at a gas station on the way, Brad almost got into a fight with a bunch of gang members, and, not surprisingly, was subsequently very mad at me.”
Applegate said she ended up regretting her decision when she found out Bach had a long-term girlfriend and a 1-year-old baby. She said that Pitt didn’t speak to her for many years, but the pair later smoothed things over. “Eventually, we agreed that I’d been a kid, and though he deserved much better, it was time to forgive the child who dumped him for the lead singer of Skid Row,” she wrote. “Of course, Brad is now THE Brad Pitt, and Sebastian Bach… well, he still has long hair, I guess.”
Bach also addressed the situation in his book writing: “She was interviewed recently on Entertainment Tonight or something, and they asked, ‘What was the dumbest thing you ever did?’ And she goes, ‘One night I ditched Brad Pitt for this other dude.’ And that dude would be me. So there was a time on this earth when Sebastian Bach was, like, a hotter lay than Brad Pitt. Of course that’s going in the book. I’ve gotta tell somebody that!”
