Chris Jericho Reveals Which JAS Members Recently Received Pay Raises & Confirms Jake Hager’s AEW Contract Status

The Jericho Appreciation Society began life six months ago by declaring themselves as sports entertainment instead of pro wrestlers in AEW. Since then, they’ve established themselves as the promotions top heel faction and elevated Angelo Parker and Matt Menard in the process, resulting in both having their contracts extended. And now Chris Jericho has revealed that they both received pay raises during a recent interview. Additionally, he confirmed that Jake Hager, whom he has known since their WWE days, is staying with AEW as he also received an extension.

Yeah, and Jake Hager, too. They all got contract extensions, and like I said, I’ve told the story many times about how the Jericho Appreciation Society came to be, and it was never planned. It was just something that happened according to the circumstances we were facing, and I think the moment the five of us got together, it was a different vibe from the Inner Circle.

But I knew that those guys were really good the moment I started working with them. So yeah, I do feel proud that they got contract extensions, raises, and everything in between. You know, I don’t say anybody deserves it they earned it. Yeah, they earned it by showing what they could do.

Hager, who was previously known as Jack Swagger in WWE, is a notable renewal as he has the cachet of being an undefeated mixed martial artist. Further, he is an AEW Original, having debuted during the inaugural episode of Dynamite as part of The Inner Circle. However, that almost didn’t happen as Tony Khan initially wanted Anthony Ogogo in that spot, with Jericho having to fight to get his former WWE colleague the role. And ultimately, that appears to have been the correct call, as it’s questionable whether Ogogo was experienced enough to participate in huge matches such as Blood And Guts, Stadium Stampede, and Anarchy In The Arena.
