As previously reported, Charlotte Flair’s storyline suspension is due to her getting dental work done. During a recent episode of his Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Meltzer would discuss this and add that she is having a complete makeover because women are made to feel subconscious about their looks in wrestling. This audio clip was shared on Twitter, and Charlotte Flair would get to hear it and fired back at the pro wrestling journalist. Meltzer writes the most well-known “dirt sheet” in the wrestling business has started the publication in the 80s. While some wrestlers like our own Chris Jericho embrace that by having him as a guest on Talk Is Jericho, and Konnan has also claimed to have seen a copy of the newsletter on McMahon’s desk. Others are not fans, including Seth Rollins and Miro, who have called Meltzer out previously by accusing him of spreading false news.
Charlotte’s comment regarding learning his lesson about commenting on women’s bodies is about Peyton Royce, who Meltzer stated back in 2018 was “a lot lighter” before leaving NXT. Royce would ask Meltzer in a now-deleted tweet if she should starve herself. This resulted in several wrestlers piling on Meltzer and promoted him to apologize publicly.
