Last August, Cash Wheeler was arrested following an alleged road rage incident where it is claimed he pulled a firearm on another driver. Subsequently, he would plead not guilty, and updates became sparse. However, it has now been reported by PWInsider.com that following his arraignment, which he didn’t attend, a trial date has officially been set for May 20th, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for May 7th. Additionally, it’s noted the court has ordered Wheeler to attend in person, and it is understood that if he is found guilty, he could face five years in prison, probation, and a fine.
36-year-old Wheeler broke into the wrestling business in 2005, and nine years later received his big break, signing with WWE and becoming Dash Wilder. Almost immediately, he would be partnered with Dax Harwood, who was going by the name Scott Dawson at the time and went on to become one of the most successful tag teams in WWE history. Still, due to being unhappy with how they were being presented, it’s known they wanted to leave the company, and after being released in 2020, would join AEW, where they have been presented as featured performers.
