Country star Carrie Underwood opened Guns ’N’ Roses kick-off show to the band’s tour on Saturday. Underwood has performed with Guns ’N’ Roses on stage and GNR singer Axl Rose has also guested on Underwood’s shows in the past.

For the GNR show, Underwood played rock covers including Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” Heart’s “Alone” and Pat Benetar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.”

Perhaps most surprisingly, however, was when the country star tackled the Motörhead classic, “Ace Of Spades.” Fan-filmed footage of the song is below, and it’s pretty rockin’.

Underwood also covered Rolling Stone’s “Wild Horses” and Led Zeppelin’s “Rock And Roll.”

Underwood has used “Ace Of Spades” as an introduction song to her sets in the past. Saturday’s show marked the first of three dates that Underwood is opening for Guns ’N’ Roses.

Before taking the stage, Underwood hinted at some exciting changes to her set list through a tweet. She wrote, “Got a lot of surprises tonight! Thought we’d have some fun with the set list. Gonna play some songs/mash-ups/covers I’ve never done before and thought they’d be good for my fellow Gunners!”

Underwood is known for many of her country hits, but perhaps none more notable than “Before He Cheats.” She also joined Guns ’N’ Roses later in the night for renditions of “Sweet Child O’ Mine and “Paradise City.”
