Brock Lesnar Apparently Refused To Wrestle Former Universal Champion

Very few wrestlers have ever had enough power to tell Vince McMahon who they were and weren’t prepared to wrestle, yet Brock Lesnar, during his second run with WWE, certainly had that power. And now, while discussing AJ Styles vs. Lesnar from Survivor Series 201, Road Dogg would reveal on his podcast that contrary to popular belief, Lesnar never refused to work with Jinder Mahal at this event. However, he would let slip that Lesnar did refuse to work with Kevin Owens, although no reason was given.

I want to clarify, it is not that he did not want to work with Jinder. It’s that he really thought he could have a better match with AJ. So I just wanted that to be clear. Like because look, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Brock saying I don’t want to, I’m not working with that guy. Well, I did, I did hear that with Kevin Owens, but only him.

It should be noted that outside of Royal Rumble and multi-man matches, Owens and Lesnar have shared a ring. With this being at a Madison Square Garden house show in March 2017. Although considering the bout would barely last beyond two minutes, it seems Lensar was prepared to squash Owens, just not work a pay-per-view quality match. Alternatively, Road Dogg could be telling tale tales because, considering Owens has worked with the likes of John Cena, Chris Jericho, and Randy Orton, it seems bizarre that Lesnar would consider himself above working with him.
